Let salvaging be a flagging offense. It will be very entertaining on the forums for a good long time. Also, a majority of the mission runners will do the same thing they do now when someone steals from them, not a damn thing.
The chance of being scanned down, if not in a mission hub, are very very small. And it would be more profitable to just complete the mission, ignore the ninja salvager, and move on to the next mission. ************************************************* I have three characters. Originally by: Kayna Eelai wrong. there is always the chance to screw up a spawn, get scrambled and lose your loved battleship.
That you can replace in two to three missions. And if you don't have a backup then ou are none to bright.
Originally by: Kayna Eelai there is always the chance to have wartargets probe you out (with a neutral alt) and pod you.
Which can befall a ninja salvager also.
Originally by: Kayna Eelai and don't even get me started of doing missions in lowsec. is the risk small? yes, but there IS a risk.
And if ninja dude is in lowsec same can be said for him.

which can be done in a long weekend

It aint that hard to get the skills to fit a BS to do level 4 missions.
If the mission runner does not like what is happening then war dec the ninja person. I see a lot of ninja salvagers in here who belong to player corps. War dec them to show your displeasure. In fact I belong to a corp of people who love going into missions and taking loot and maybe, if they are in the mood, salvaging your mission. By all means War Dec us, please. ************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |

Your post makes you look like a dolt.
Level 4 BS -> 1.5bil plus? You got to be nuts. A friggen regular Raven with Arbalest Cruise missiles and the rest T2 with 3 CCC rigs for about 196 million isk.
Ninja Salvager, I do it in style in a Stabber with 6 salvagers, an AB, overdrives and a couple of LSE II. 18 million isk
Level 4 BS skills takes 2 months. If you can't do level 4 missions within 2 months of starting Eve you don't have a clue what you are doing.
Ninja salvager takes about 12 days using a stabber
But you forgot the important part. How does the ninja dude find the mission runner. Why with a Cov Ops ship (if you want to do it right). Cost of Cov Ops Cheetah is 47 million isk. Time to train for it use (relevent skills up to 4): 101 days (a little over 3 months)
I just got to say it again. 1.5billion isk for a battleship to run level 4 missions? Give me a break.
You do notice I did not resort to name calling? This ninja salvager is finally on the moral high ground here baby.
My bad, I did resort to name calling (I called you nuts). What can I say, I am a high sec griefer and a ninja salvager. Back to puppy kicking. |

so, with less than a day and around 1M isk investment you're perfectly capable of starting your ninja business making up to 9M isk in a little while (like an example previously posted here) by parasiting others people work.
and you are still trying to compare that to the minimum investment of +-2month, 200M isk and faction grinding a mission runner needs to do before he can run lvl4 missions? yeah, riiiight.
edit: quotes
Tell the truth I don't give a rats ass about the salvage. The loot and the salvage is a means to an end to me. The corp I belong to hunt down mission runners for two reasons only: 1. Get them to shoot at us when we take the loot. Killing the mission runner and making a lot of isk off what he drops 2. Finding prospects to war dec.
We do not care about the salvage at this time. If it became a flagging offense for salvaging in someones mission then we will just use it like we do loot from the wreaks. We are looking forward to the day salvaging becomes a flagging offense.
And the reason we do this in high sec: mission runners seem to get a little bit more upset in high sec then elsewhere. I think it has something to do with the misunderstanding that they (the mission runner) think high sec is safe. ************************************************* I have three characters.
